About Moolou
Moolou is a New Zealand-made skin and body care business. We are focused on solving real skin problems with carefully selected and natural ingredients.
Every product at Moolou is made in small batches with care, focusing on formulas that are simple, purposeful and smell amazing. We believe that skincare should not have 30 ingredients that you cannot pronounce. It should leave you feeling luxurious and soft without the harsh chemicals.
We created a fun dairy-inspired branding, which is where the "MOO" comes from. We then moved on to our logo and packaging, including milk bottles and butter-inspired products. However our products do not contain dairy.
The "LOU" in Moolou represents Amy's childhood name, Amylou, which rhymed well with MOO. This created Moolou, the cow's name.
We are a small, family-owned business run by a girl struggling to control her eczema and a mum who is happy to help solve a problem after seeing how much of a problem it was for her daughter. We listen to feedback thoroughly to ensure we are helping as many people as possible.

We are always open to new product suggestions; this is where most of our products originated. Someone has a problem; we create a product; they test it; it works; we sell it to others.

why moolou was created??
acne rescue
Moolou Acne Rescue was inspired by a girl who reached out to us for help with her acne. After hearing her story, and knowing friends and family who had faced similar struggles, we wanted to create a gentle, lightweight formula using ingredients commonly used for acne-prone skin. We tested it with real people and received feedback of reduced redness, less severe-looking breakouts and fewer flare-ups.

24hr moisture
24 Hour Moisture was created from personal experience with dry, sensitive, eczema-prone skin. Other moisturisers often left Amy's skin irritated and could trigger flare-ups, so we wanted to create something gentle, nourishing and comfortable to wear every day. Our lightweight, non-greasy formula leaves skin feeling moisturised and smooth, while layering easily under SPF and makeup.
Belly butter
Belly Butter was created to support friends and family through pregnancy and other times when the skin is naturally stretching. We wanted to create a rich, nourishing butter that helps keep the skin feeling soft, moisturised and supple while caring for areas prone to stretch marks.
Lip Balm
Our Lip Balm was created for dry, sensitive and eczema-prone lips after finding that many traditional lip balms containing beeswax could cause irritation and flare-ups. We wanted to create a gentle, nourishing alternative that helps keep lips feeling soft, smooth, and moisturised without the ingredients that didn’t work for us. (Beeswax free)
Baby Balm
Our Baby Balm was created for babies with sensitive, eczema-prone skin. We wanted a gentle, nourishing balm to support everyday nappy care by helping keep delicate skin moisturised and protected, especially when prone to dryness and nappy rash.
